Designing for Diversity: How Organizations Align for Inclusion

Why does diversity seem so unattainable to companies who claim to be making concerted efforts? Google et al have struggled to increase diversification while making investments and conscious efforts. If taken as a design problem, the diversity question can help organizations align themselves around addressing the experiences hindering true diversity including: hiring for "cultural fit," inflexible work hours, parenting, disability, and unconscious bias. This talk will discuss opportunities and experiments organizations can take on to increase diversity and inclusion.
